a) "Tight is right" means that you only play a few selected startings hands due to their superior expected profit.

Which of the following player types is the best friend of a winning player?

The Rock. A rock is easy to read based on his limited hand selection, will play passively and folds too frequently preflop and postflop with playable hands. It's an opponent you enjoy meeting.

The Calling Station. The calling station plays a lot more hands than the rock and will invest too much money with speculative hands. Calling stations usually pay you off generously at the showdown and and they are always welcome at any poker table.

The LAG (loose aggressive). You will profit from a LAG thanks to the fact that he plays many starting hands and plays them too aggressive. He is willing to pay a bit more for his ego and that's a profitable thing for you!
